Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah has decided to open a hotel Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile, situated five miles south from the sanctuary. The hotel’s interiors, as well as the surroundings, will be designed keeping pets in mind. Adding to the design, the hotel gates would not only welcome visitors and their pets but rather it would also allow animals that visitors would like to adopt from the sanctuary, which is beyond cats and dogs.
Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile hotel would include 30 rooms and 10 suites designed to provide the best for a four-legged. The hotel would provide services and facilities like two-door entries, designed to prevent animals from slipping out of rooms, sleeping nooks for pets complete with mattresses, a fenced-in park with its own water feature, pet washing stations, pet sitting and pet walking services and Fabrics and materials used in rooms designed to withstand regular use by animals. Room prices would vary from $159 to $299 with the inclusion of a vegan continental breakfast. Apart from this, visitors can also grab some vegan snacks along with drinks and Best-Friends branded merchandise. The hotel will also provide shuttle transportation to and from Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Part of the income that comes in from the hotel will help fund the animal sanctuary’s campaign,” to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters” by 2025 reports LA times.
The Best Friends Animal Society which is a sanctuary in Utah welcomes 30,000 visitors annually. The society spreads across nearly 3,700 acres of land and is home 1600 animals with medical assistance and love and care that they need. With a mission in mind to end the killing of cats and dogs in the USA and find no more homeless animals on the streets of America, they are trying to ‘Save Them All’. The society is a leader of the no-kill movement where they strive to save the 17milllion animals killed each year as they were termed as unwanted. Till date since its inception in 1984, the society has been a help to stray animals. Since 35 years, the number Best Friends has advocated for a halt to the euthanasia of stray animals. The society has tied up with other groups, government, and regular folks throughout the nation and in the past 35 years, the number of animals killed in US shelters has dropped from an estimated 17 million annually to 800,000, according to the shelter, states their website. It is termed to be the nation’s largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.
