The 11th edition of Asia’s largest pet exhibition, India International Pet Trade Fair 2019 concluded last Sunday. It was held from the August 23 to August 25, 2019, at the Pragati Maidan, Delhi. IIPTF is known to be South Asia’s only pet trade fair and India’s largest pet event. The fair was organized by the Creature Companion, a pet care magazine published by L.B. Associates Pvt Ltd. The doors of the trade fair were open to anyone and everyone affiliated to the pet Industry across India and the world. The three–day event began with Indian Pet Industry Dialogue (IPID) on August 23. The seminar discussed current happenings of the pet industry in India, and its future in the global arena. Many delegates associated with the industry were present at the event. Everyone came together to increase their existing knowledge about the pet industry and to collectively carve a path for the future. Experts brought to light many insights concerning pets through social interaction with peers present at the trade fair.
The forum hosted distinguished speakers like Mr Punit Modhgil (Entrepreneur/Marketer), Mr Varindrak Sevak, Mr Jasjeet Josan and other experts who were the face of the pet retail market. This also paved the way for the foreign companies to gain information about the Indian Pet Industry first hand.
The delegates, as well as the panel, had one vision and mission, i.e. to make India the largest manufacturer and exporter of pet products by 2030 through the exchange of information and opinions on the necessary measures to achieve this goal.
The IPID also hosted the Indian Pet Industry Awards, awarded to the best pet businesses, entrepreneurs and NGOs for achieving excellence in the domestic pet industry. The award had nominees from the five main categories which were namely – Best Entrepreneur of the Year, Pet Shop of the Year, Grooming Parlour of the Year, and Pet Boarding of the Year and NGO of the Year. The winners received certificates of recognition and hand-painted portraits of furry companions.
The second and third day commenced the B2B exhibition-cum-trade show with various brand owners connecting with each other with regards to their pet products and services. Many reputable brands (having global presence) such as Tianjin Tangchao Foods (China), Bacterfield (Germany), Group Depre Pet Food (Belgium), and Synergy Lab USA had their pet products on display. The Canadian Commission’s ‘Canadian Pavilion’ showcased quite an impressive list of renowned Canadian pet brands. Popular Indian brands such as Taiyo (aquarium and pet feed brand) from Chennai, Poonchh (eco-conscious pet clothing and accessories brand), and Petveda (ayurvedic grooming products for pets)
Alongside the fair, there were lists of educative and informative seminars held in a section of the venue.
All in all, IIPTF 2019 was a huge success providing an open platform for manufacturers, distributors, importers, exporters, and service providers of the pet industry to come together, exchange ideas and establish business relationships at an international level.
